Police in Twin Falls continue to search for clues into the double homicide that killed the owner of the Tint Shop and another person. Yesterday a warrant was served at a home in the 200 block of Ramage street but there were no arrests. Police, sheriff deputies and members of SWAT were on scene. 36 year old Jesse Ortiz and his employee 26 year old Jaime Bravo died. Several photos posted online by police show the suspects as the crime occurred.
Twin Falls has a new police chief, well sort of new. On Monday night, they rehired former police chief, Craig Kingsbury, who had retired for less than two months. On Monday, Kingsbury said that while he enjoyed traveling during his short time away, he missed the work and had reconsidered his decision.
A 70 year old Caldwell man died yesterday afternoon just before 5 after being struck by a car. The accident happened in Caldwell when the man attempted to cross a street and was struck by a car driven by a 38 year old female.
The city of Twin Falls said they have had to close the Evel Knievel Jumpsite road access due to conditions caused by inclement weather and ongoing construction work on an adjacent private property. Also, Shoshone Falls Road, and road access to Shoshone Falls Park, is closed due to hazardous road conditions caused by freezing mist. The road will be opened if conditions allow.
The Kimberly school district is the latest to consider a 4 day school week or a hybrid schedule. School officials held a meeting Monday night to hear from eight Idaho superintendents in order to develop a possible plan. They hope to have recommendations they can present to the public by February of next year.
The man accused of murdering four of his neighbors in a Kellogg apartment on June 18 is scheduled to go before a jury in March for the quadruple murders. 31 year old Majorjon Kaylor’s previous trial date was set to begin in January. However, that date was vacated in a Nov. 28 hearing - when the judge approved Kaylor's request to waive his right to a speedy trial.
