A 56 year old Hagerman man died in a crash yesterday morning just after 9 in Jerome County.  Police say the man was southbound along Highway 93 between the freeway interchange and the Perrine Bridge when the truck hauling propane went off the road, struck a guardrail and overturned multiple times.  Police evacuated the area for a short time.  Crews spent 2 and a half hours clearing the scene.



An 85 year old Bingham County Mother is being called a hero after she shot and killed a home intruder. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Derek Condon, entered the home Christine Jenneiahn shares with her disabled son around 2 a.m. March 13.  After being handcuffed, the suspect rifled through the home looking for valuables.  He became upset when he found the woman’s disabled son was also in the home.  The woman was able to retrieve a 357 revolver and shot the suspect. 



The Idaho Legislature adjourned Wednesday without passing legislation to fix an issue with a new law that Gov. Brad Little said could disrupt health care services.  The governor signed off on a bill that he said needed more action from the legislature to address mental health services.  But some lawmakers doubted the need for another bill.



The Idaho Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously affirmed a district court’s decision to dismiss a lawsuit related to two Idaho voting laws passed during the 2023 legislative session effectively bringing an end to the lawsuit. One bill removed student identification cards as an accepted form of identification when voting.  The other eliminated the option to prove identity by providing the last four digits of a Social Security number when registering to vote.



The opening statements were delivered in Chad Daybell's murder trial on Wednesday, marking the start to a lengthy death penalty trial. Daybell's trial is expected to last roughly eight to 10 weeks.



Authorities in Jerome have arrested 23 year old Mauricio Rubie after discovering a large amount of drugs in the car he was driving.  The arrest followed a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Avenue D Sunday.  Inside they found a large amount of Marijuana and Methamphetamine.
