In men’s basketball, Boise state downed Fresno State 72 to 68 last night.  It wasn’t easy at the end though.  Boise saw a 16 point lead turn into a one-point deficit with 2:10 remaining.  Boise State will battle for first place in the Mountain West, Saturday against Utah State. Both teams are currently at the top of the conference standings, as the Aggies are also ranked No. 18/20. Tipoff is at 2 p.m.


The Idaho State men's basketball team will continue their four-game road trip as they travel to Weber State on Saturday, January 27th for their game at 7 pm. The Bengals split their season series with Weber State last year, which included the Bengals 71-72 2OT loss to the Wildcats in Pocatello. Idaho State is 2-3 against WSU in their last five matchups.


From the local basketball varsity scoreboard first for the boys, Valley downed Carey 60 to 48.  Filer downed Kimberly 51 to 45.  Glenns Ferry took the win over Hansen 82 to 55.  Oakley defeated Murtaugh 59 to 31 and Camas County took the win over Richfield 65 to 28.  


For the Girls, the Jerome tigers took the win over the Burley Bobcats with a 52 to 29 win.  Oakley was the victors over Shoshone 53 to 19.   


On the local schedule for today, for boys basketball, Declo travels to Buhl, Minico goes to Burley, Twin Falls visits Jerome, Filer goes to Kimberly, Canyon Ridge to Mountain Home and Gooding goes to Wood River.


For the girls, Murtaugh goes to Carey, Lighthouse travels to Castleford, West Side to Declo, Gooding to Filer, Valley goes to Oakley, Glenns Ferry visits Rat River and Hansen boards the bus to Shoshone,.
