Sports 4/3/24

In baseball games from yesterday, locally, Jerome downed Filer 11 to 3.  It was Burley 6 Twin Falls 2.  Minico 9, Canyon Ridge 2.  After 5 innings it was Kimberly 19 Gooding 4.  Firth defeated Declo 6 to 5.  It was Wendell 3 Challis 0. 

From the Softball games, Filer took Declo in Six innings 14 to 4.  It was Pocatello 6, Twin Falls 3.  In the second game Pocatello 7, Twin Falls 4.  In another double header, Canyon Ridge took both games over Preston 9 to 6 in the first and 16 to 3 in four innings in the second.  Burley for the win over Wood River 12 to 10 in the first game.  Wood River recovered and took the second game 11 to 9.  Jerome defeated Minico in that double header.  15 to 3 in Five innings in the first game and 11 to 1 in Six innings  in  the second game.

Looking at the high school baseball schedule for today, Idaho City travels to Glenns Ferry.  On the softball schedule, Declo will host Bear Lake. 

Rhett Jones has been named the Declo hornets new head football coach.  Last season he was the offensive line coach.  He replaces Josh Stewart who is now the head coach at Blackfoot High school.  For Jones, this will be the 15th year as a coach.
